Our Social Mission

We are building a localized senior living specific ecosystem of resources designed to better meet the needs of families that the industry serves. These efforts educate and create positive social change by connecting trusted experts to families looking for the best way to navigate the unique challenges of aging. Our efforts create a cascading effect of resources to senior living professionals, families, and seniors, as well as being a catalyst for a shift in mindset, impacting future generations in America.

Our Commitment to the Senior Living Community

We are dedicated to collaboratively working with families to have more time with their loved ones by alleviating the stress when a senior transitions into long-term care by creating a better solution for the senior home selling process.

We empower the families to more effectively turn equity into care for their loved one. By educating the adult children during this process, we increase the quality of life for older adults and allow them to age with dignity. This also creates positive social change by providing additional resources to senior living professionals, enabling them to more effectively help the families that they serve.

For the Senior (Home Seller) the traditional real estate experience is broken and doesn’t meet the family’s need to sell the house without having to invest the time, money, and effort to make the house retail-ready. Eliminating the make-ready process reduces a significant part of the stress for the family, removing the need to hire contractors, get bids, manage a rehab, and find the money needed to pay for the rehab. These all add financial and emotional stress, and more importantly, extend the timeframe to get Mom the care she needs now and to keep her safe. Reducing the risk of falls, improving medication management, and adding intellectual stimulation all help to extend her life and happiness.

Making the decision to move mom or dad to senior living is emotional enough. But when you add the stress of downsizing, renovations, and selling the family home – as you know all too well – it can easily become overwhelming. How long will it take to sell? Who will clean everything out? Do we have money to invest in updates? Is mom safe until we can move? The result is often a delayed move-in or worse, the decision to wait altogether. It doesn’t have to be this way. Four Oaks Road can help the process move forward and get more seniors into care as soon as possible.

Our Story

This is Four Oaks Road. A home is where family gathered for dinner every night. A home where little girls played in the backyard playhouse their daddy built from scratch. A home where Christmas was a joyous, magical and abundant. A home that always welcomed friends and family. A home that held birthday, anniversaries and graduation parties. A home where a momma did crafts at the kitchen table with her kids. The home that was up the street from grandparents. A home where little girls rode bikes out front for hours and held lemonade stands.

This is a home that provided a foundation for a family that taught their children humility, empathy and respect for people especially elders. This is a home that sparked something, all those years ago, in a little girl who became Our Founder. This is Four Oaks Road……

Our Founder

Monica Herrera

Born and raised in San Jose, Monica has many fond, indelible family memories of her childhood home on Four Oaks Road and surrounding community. She was captivated by Architecture, specifically homes, something she attributes to her parents taking her and her younger sister to Sunday breakfast then going to look at model homes for years.

Prior to getting her Real Estate license, Monica was a Design Consultant with national home builders for more than a decade. She managed the design studios for several new construction builders throughout the Central Valley. That experience added a unique component to her services that helps clients navigate the new construction process or envision an existing property for purchase or sale. She also took the initiative to complete her Seniors Real Estate Specialist® certification. In October 2019, she was featured on an episode of HGTV’s “House Hunters,” which was filmed in Riverbank, California.

The multiple facets of her childhood, life and career as well as being a former CNA, set the foundation of Four Oaks Road, which was created after seeing the gap in the Senior service community. Her mission is to give families more time with their loved ones by alleviating the stress when a senior transitions into long-term care by enhancing the experience, simplifying the transition, and recognizing that the senior’s homes carry a rich history full of memories of the lives they have lived there. Every collaboration with a Senior and their families is exactly what she would expect for her own parents but also provides education, resources and support for families.

Monica currently resides in a Multi-Generational home she created in Atwater, Ca. Her daily adventures include her husband Robert, their four French Bulldogs (Butters, Bow, Brinx & Birdie)and navigating her 40’s while raising two 80 year olds. (Her parents) She is actively engaged with other local group and businesses that serve Seniors in the Central Valley.
